JM Coetzee and Athol Fugard Festival

Ashleigh O'Shea winning the Gcina Mhlophe Prize for children's Literature for her book 'The Legends of Gordo: The Leprechaun Camp.'

Ashleigh and Cara-Leigh O'Shea after their speeches at South African Independent Publisher's Awards.

The JM Coetzee and Athol Fugard Festival was held in Booktown Richmond along with the South African Independent Publisher's Awards.

Many autors gathered for this splendid occasion. The festival was a massive success as prizes were given but it was not only the awards that made that particular weekend memorable. Friendships were made and the culture of the little town explored. And despite the cold weather, the town of Richmond - not the one in Natal - is a place to make memories. The O'Shea sisters had gained a one of a kind experience meeting new people from across South Africa (and Canada).

Thanks to Darryl Davids amd Peter Baker for their extradordinary efforts putting this festival together. The programme was filled with amazing speakers and a delightful award ceremony at the Supper Club. The South African Independent Publisher's Awards ceremony was truly an event embedded in our memories. Congratulations to all the winners of their categories. A special congrats to Irene Fischer for her autobiography "Ek Is Nog Hier." Her book won the ultimate prize, The Boekbedonnered Award. An ispirational book so worth reading.

And the Supper Club did not disppoint - wonderful meals and warm conversation from authors and waitors alike, made this a memorable occasion for all.

What a delight to be the only guest spekers at this prostigious event!

Involving the locals in a spontnious street dance that entertained our audience at the Supper Club.
